What Can I Do?

Urea is commonly used to boost protein intake in pasture-fed beef cattle, aiding digestion but increasing methane production. By replacing urea with nitrate supplements, such as lick blocks, you can reduce methane emissions. If your beef cattle herd is pasture-fed and you’re considering this change, you may be eligible to earn ACCUs (Australian Carbon Credit Units) through the Clean Energy Regulator’s Feeding nitrates to beef cattle method.
