Embedded microgrids are where a number of electricity users are within close proximity to each other and connected to the main grid through a common distribution point.

What Can I Do?

An embedded network is a private electricity network, connected to the grid, with a ‘master meter’ at that connection point, to measure the transfer of electricity to and from the grid and amongst households within the microgrid. Embedded networks help to remove obstacles preventing property owners from investing in renewable energy and allowing tenants to benefit from cheaper, locally produced renewable electricity.
