Implement food waste recycling

What Can I Do?

Over 7 million tonnes of food is wasted per year in Australia – that’s over $2000 per household per year and a bigger cost to the environment. Reducing emissions from food waste is one of the simplest ways to your carbon footprint. Firstly, allowing less of your food to go to waste in the first place is a worthwhile skill to master, with plenty of resources to help you. Recycle your food waste at home through use of a worm farm, compost bins, chickens or a bokashi bucket – or a combination. You can also join the ShareWaste community by giving your food waste to, or accepting food waste from your neighbours.
